Insomnia
Nearly 1/3 of adults get fewer than six hours sleep a night. Insomnia is so common that a lot of people think it’s normal, especially as we age. Fewer than half the people who are chronically sleep deprived do anything about it.
Our bodies need somewhere between 7 to 9 hours sleep in order to complete the overnight immune boosting, hormone balancing, cleansing and cell repair works it wants to do to keep us in good health. If you think you’re doing ok on 6 hours a day, your body might be coping with it. But you WILL be going into adrenal over-drive to get through the day and this doesn’t do your health any good in the long term.
If you are tired, you make poor food choices as you want to boost energy levels, so you tend to eat rubbish, as your body craves quick sugary fixes – which has a BIG health impact!
Lack of sleep raises cortisol (a stress hormone) and encourages our body to turn all food we eat to fat to store it for energy – for the emergency it thinks we are dealing with! So it’s REALLY hard to lose weight if you don’t sleep well.
There are many serious illnesses that have a link with lack of sleep, such as various forms of cancer, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, depression, dementia AND it shortens your life expectancy. So it REALLY is something worth investing some time and effort into improving if getting a good night’s sleep is a challenge for you.
Carine is one of the most skilled reiki healers I have ever met. She gives Reiki to animals as well and has given my Weimaraner Harry, healing. Wary of strangers, he took to her so easily and quickly and loves the healing she gives him. And beyond that, Carine is a master at adding value. Her ‘Facetastics’ Workshop, exercises for the face, to revitalise and rejuvenate what we show to the world, is truly amazing. They are effective and fun.

De-stress for a good night’s sleep
There are many different issues related to sleep struggles and I would like to help you obtain that elusive whole night’s sleep. The therapies I offer can help with sleep disturbance. Reiki and Reflexology are fantastic at helping to relax and de-stress the body, enabling it to function more efficiently. The less stressed you are, the more likely your body is to regulate your hormones better.
It may not be stress that is driving your insomnia, but some other physiological imbalance within the body. Both Reflexology and Reiki help to bring the body back into balance which allows the parasympathetic nervous system to take over at night and enables you to have a good night’s sleep.
Insomnia Treatment Plan
As sleep disturbance is such a multi-faceted issue, each treatment plan needs to be personally tailored. I start with a holistic assessment of your lifestyle, diet, and spiritual wellbeing before suggesting an individualised treatment plan. I use an integrated holistic approach involving in-clinic treatments, recommended lifestyle changes and ‘at home’ self treatment.
You will need to start with a few sessions in fairly quick succession. Cumulative treatments close together significantly elevate the body’s ability to rebalance and heal, achieving a positive impact on your sleep patterns more quickly.
As part of the treatment, we will also discuss lifestyle, nutrition and sleep hygiene (routines for helping you sleep) to empower you to better manage your own health and improve your whole wellbeing.
I recommend an initial series of 6 treatments over a 3-4 month period to help kickstart your wellbeing and assess whether the treatments are having a positive impact on your sleep.
I am very happy to book you in for individual sessions, however a package of 6 sessions includes a free treatment. Any subsequent treatments after the initial 6 can be bought in blocks of 6 or individually.
Insomnia Treatment Package – £300
(6 treatments including one FREE treatment)
